More About Our Attorneys

Samuel S. McHard

Sam McHard has practiced law for 45 years. He is admitted to practice in the following jurisdictions: 1976, Illinois and U.S. District Court, Central District of Illinois; 1983, U.S. Court of Appeals, Seventh Circuit; 1985, U.S. Supreme Court; 1999, Iowa; 2001, Mississippi, Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals.


Sam received his B.A. at Augustana College in Rock Island, IL and his Juris Doctor at Northwestern University.


Sam is a member of Phi Beta Kappa and maintains membership with the following professional associations: Mississippi Bar Association; Iowa Bar Association; Illinois Bar Association; Mississippi Association for Justice; American Association for Justice; Texas Bar Association; and Texas Trial Lawyers Association. Sam also handles mediations.

P. Manion Anderson

Manion graduated from USM in four years with a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics. While enrolled at Southern Miss, Manion was an active member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity, the Inter-Fraternity Council, and the Society of Physics Students – holding numerous officer positions within each. 


Manion received his law degree from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He spent one year as a visiting student at the University of Oklahoma in Norman, Oklahoma. As a law student, Manion held numerous clerkship positions with several firms around the nation including Legal Services Corporation in Baton Rouge, LA, Neil P. McGuffee, PC in Oklahoma City, OK, and Tynes Law Firm in Pascagoula, MS.

Manion is still actively involved in the local Kappa Sigma Fraternity chapter and is also a member of the Area Developmental Partnership, Pine Belt Young Professionals, and the Young Lawyers Division of the Mississippi Bar. 


Outside of his professional and civic involvement, Manion is a dedicated family man. He and his wife, Sarah, live in Hattiesburg with their three children. The family is deeply rooted in their faith and actively involved at Heritage Church, where they regularly serve and participate in community outreach.
